‘People making things happen’: The Mill is recruiting new Trustees

Based off St James Street in Walthamstow, the Mill was set up by the local community. The Mill is Walthamstow’s living room, we are open six days a week for the local community to drop in and to help local people make the most of their talents and skills. We are a busy and creative space.

Our strapline at the Mill is ‘People Making Things Happen’. This reflects our desire to help utilise and share local talent and the fact that we are largely run by volunteers.

The Mill opened its doors in 2011 and is at an exciting point in its journey: we are well established and well known throughout the area, and we are also looking to the future, to strengthen and diversify our income and activities.

Being a Trustee at the Mill is a varied, interesting and challenging role. It provides the opportunity to help lead and grow a great community space, get involved in a range of issues, and make new friends in the local area.

We are looking for energetic, committed and skilled individuals to join our Board on a voluntary basis.

We are holding an open day on Saturday 19th September at the Mill. If you would like to become a Trustee at the Mill please come along any time between 10 and 1 to meet staff, volunteers and Trustees. Please bring a copy of your CV and we will ask you to complete a short questionnaire when you arrive. If selected to join the Board, references will be requested.
