Creative Isolation

A child's drawing of a bear wearing headphones, with the caption "QUIET I'm trying to draw"We’ve spotted lots of online creative challenges and group activities in the last few weeks. Here’s some that we’re running, as well as others by local Walthamstow creatives:

Kids Art Club
Every Thursday as part of #TheMillOnline

A creative activity you can try (young or old) put together by Gemma from The Mill’s Thursday afternoon Kid’s Art Club. All the activities will be with materials you can find around the home. We’d love to see what you make!

Get Drawing
Every other Sunday as part of #TheMillOnline

A drawing prompt and tips from Mo and David from our Get Drawing group. Take some time for some quiet focus and share your results with us!

Here are some other groups you can join, run by local Walthamstow creatives:

Visual Storytelling in the times of isolation

With Laura Martinez, photographer and filmmaker, and one or our Grow Your Idea 2 participants.

Do you like to take pictures, see paintings, read poetry? Ask yourself “What Do You See?” in those things you like.  Join a creative exercise to share with others the pictures that mean something to you.

Inky’s Art Challenge and Inky Kid’s Challenge

With Anna Alcock at Inky Cuttlefish, every Monday

Weekly challenges for he artists – young and old – who would normally be using our studio but now can’t…

Weekly Drawing Challenge

Mondays in April, at 7pm with Jason Hawkridge of Make your Mark

To give anyone interested some advice on drawing, and a chance of spending two hours drawing – to help aid the tension we are all under during these crazy times. Keep an eye on Jason’s social media for details

If you know of any other creative challenges being run locally, let us know and we’ll add them here!
