Grow Your Idea

To celebrate our 10th year, we’re delighted to be supporting local people to try out group activities that celebrate creativity and wellbeing and help bring people together. The activities will be launching this Autumn.

We’re so proud of all we have achieved together and of our Grow Your Idea programme which has supported over 40 people to try out their idea for group projects and engaged hundreds of people in a huge variety of group activities.

Growing workshops with Nicola Daunton:

Sketch Walks with Eleanor Meredith:

Thursdays, 7 – 21 October, 10:30am – 12:30pm

Three short walks: spend time stopping and sketching around Coppermill.

Mondays, 18 October – 29 November, 11am – 12noon (no session on 25 October)

Online creative writing sessions, all you’ll need is an internet connection, a pen, a notepad, an open mind – and the intention to enjoy!

Grow Your Idea is supported by St James Big Local.

Send us a birthday card!

We’re plan to cover our walls with birthday cards from our friends and family, local community and people who use The Mill. Send us a card in the post, drop it in the postbox in the living Room, or email us a message and/or image. We’ll add it to the display!

Tales from The Mill Oral History Project

A large, mixed group of people standing outside The Mill on opening day, smiling and laughingTales from The Mill is a new project, funded by National Lottery Awards for All, to document and celebrate The Mill and the people involved with it as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations. Tales from The Mill will collect, explore, create and celebrate shared stories related to how The Mill started and its importance in the local community. Volunteers will have the opportunity to undertake oral history training, and to interview people involved with The Mill in its early days and more recently. An exhibition will take place at the end of the project along with a celebratory event and publication.
