Join local artist Sarah Mercer for an informal, social, creative morning focusing on drawing the face. All abilities are welcome, but you are particularly encouraged to attend if you have ever said, or even thought “I can’t draw”.
During Portrait Club, you won’t be taught ‘how’ to draw, but instead we will explore multiple techniques to build confidence in your drawing abilities, using the face as a subject.
You will draw and be drawn, as each person will take turns to model for a short exercise. The emphasis will be on having fun whilst being creative and expressive.
Materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring along any materials you particularly enjoy or are interested to try using.
Please get in touch if you have any access requirements or questions prior to the event. The session will take place in the Garden Room on the ground floor of The Mill which is accessible to most wheelchairs and mobility aids. Further information on access can be found here.
Please note this is an adult class for ages 16+. Tickets cost £5 per session, plus booking fee. Please get in touch if you cannot afford the ticket price but would like to attend.
Generously supported by The Mill’s Grow Your Idea fund, and Co-op.
