What’s On – Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October 2016

On Saturday the drum rolls… ! The BIG EVENT this week is Gala Day and Grand Draw for the Greatest Little Art Show & Raffle in E17 – starting at 12pm on Saturday 1 October – full details below – so read on – and find out also about all else going on other days this week.

All week (except Monday)

Everyone is welcome whenever we are open. You can borrow a book from the honesty library , bring your little ones to enjoy all the toys in the playroom, make a cuppa and have a chat – and we also have leaflets, flyers and posters on display so  you can find out what else is going on throughout Waltham Forest.

And this is the last week you can view the exhibition of postcard-size artworks in The Greatest Little Art Show and Raffle in E17. For details of the Gala Day and Grand Draw, see Saturday 1 October.

Monday 26 September

Yoga6pm-7pm – Gentle Yoga – Learn some gentle healing poses and relaxation techniques, which you can also do safely at home. Classes are small (up to 8 students), so you will get plenty of individual attention. £10 drop in or £9 with a loyalty card. 7pm-8.30pm – Ashtanga Yoga – This class is also led by Josetta who specialises in teaching beginners this dynamic style of yoga, but all levels are catered for.Regular students buy ten week loyalty cards for a discounted £10 per class. Drop-ins are also welcome, space permitting for £11. This class is for anyone with little or no experience of either yoga or Ashtanga yoga, as well as for those who wish to develop their practice. Make your mark - drawing course in Walthamstow for all abilities7pm-9pm – Make Your Mark –The final class of this four-week course. There are sometimes places available for those who have not previously attended. Tuesday 27 September

Wednesday 28 September

Art workshops at The Mill flyer11am-1pm – Art Workshops for All – for adults to explore looking at life through art and not art itself. The workshops are for anyone, from beginner to ‘expert painter’. When it comes to expressing yourself – you are the greatest artist. No booking is required, just drop in on the day! The sessions are free and all materials are provided  – but we do ask for a £2 donation towards The Mill. For more information email Hassan Vawda.

laughterclubimage12pm-2pm – Laughter Club – Meets weekly and is for people to socialise and make new friends and enjoy pleasant company. Set up originally for people who are on employment support allowance on the work programme with SEETEC, but others are welcome. For more information email.

Thursday 29 September

Esol Wordle10am-2pm – Community Voices – A 12 week programme of ESOL, aimed at migrant women of all backgrounds who want to integrate into their community, train as a volunteer, run local community events and gain an ESOL speaking qualification. rafflebanner212pm-5pm – The Greatest Little Art Show & Raffle in E17. Saturday is Gala Day and the Grand Draw. Come along early to enjoy cake, music and special Mill Mocktails – and stay as the tension builds before and during the Grand Draw which starts at 2pm. Who will be a lucky winner of an original postcard artwork by – “a very famous street artist”? You have to be there to find out – and have to buy a £1 raffle ticket to have a chance.

Sunday 2 October

Chess Club11.00am-1pm Chess Club – A drop-in session for beginners and improvers. Everyone aged 11+ is welcome. Attendance is by donation of £2 (all proceeds to The Mill). A few chess sets will be available, but if you have one, please bring your own set.
