It’s a leap year – so this week starts on 29 February …
This post is about three particular highlights taking place this week. But – remember, you don’t have to join in an activity … whenever we are open you can call in to The Mill for a chat and relax in the living room with a cup of tea or coffee, browse the honesty library, have fun in the playroom with your little ones and enjoy the latest art exhibition on the walls in the living room.
And here are this week’s three highlights on Tuesday and Thursday:
Tuesday 1 March
Real coffee @ The Mill – freshly brewed and served with home-made biscotti – all for just £1. Come along between 10am-12pm to enjoy the best (and cheapest !) coffee in Walthamstow.
And on the same day – from 10.30am-1pm – you can participate in the first of 6 workshops for people aged 55+. “Tales from the Marsh” will use drama, games, storytelling, creative writing and craft, to explore your oral history stories of the local neighbourhood. Through the workshops you will generate material for a performance and exhibition to take place this summer on the marsh and in The Mill. For more information contact Siobhan O’Neill – call 0798 951 9522 or email ONeill.2014@live.rhul.ac.uk
Thursday 3 March – 3.30pm-6.30pm
To celebrate World Book Day we are holding a bumper book sale at The Mill. There will be brand new childrens’ books for just £1 each – including “Storm Whale” by local author & illustrator Benji Davies in English and 17 other languages.
There will also be a cake sale and handknits made by The Mill Knitters. Come along and grab yourself a bargain!
For more details of the above – and all else going on this week – check out the calendar which is on the righthand side of this page if viewed from a laptop/desktop – and will be ‘at the bottom’ (probably) if viewed from a mobile device.
