Come and share your memories of Walthamstow Marsh through these six creative workshops, held on Tuesdays from 10.30am to 1.00pm, beginning 1 March 2016 until 26 April 2016. Using drama, games, storytelling, creative writing and craft, we will explore your oral history stories of the local neighbourhood.

Through the workshops you will generate material for a performance and exhibition to take place this summer on the marsh and in The Mill. You are invited to co-create the work, inputting your ideas around what and how you want your memories to be presented. There are many roles you might want take on in the production, from recording stories to making props, performing or writing text. These workshops are for older adults aged 55+.

Other groups, including children and young people, will also participate separately in workshops to create material that will be brought together in the summer performance exhibition.

Tales from the Marsh is part of a research project supervised under the Drama and History departments at Royal Holloway University of London.
It is funded through a Waltham Forest Arts Development Grant and a Royal Holloway University of London research scholarship.
