You can call in to The Mill for a chat and relax in the living room with a cup of tea or coffee, browse the honesty library and have fun in the playroom with your little ones. But there are also lots of activities you can join in – and this week we’re making a splash with art.
Thursday 10 Dec will be the first day of a new exhibition – “Young Creatives at The Mill” – featuring exuberant works by young artists aged 3-11 years who attend the Kids Art Club. The exhibition will run until 6 February and whenever we’re open you can drop in to the living room area to have a look. On a grey winter’s day lively and colourful art will be a welcome visual treat!
On Saturday 12 December (1.45pm-3.15pm) there’s a Paint-a-Pollock workshop. Full of dripping, splashing and splattering fun this is an unmissable event for children and adults. The cost is £10 per family and it is essential to book in advance – so go to the Lemon Art Lab website.
Also on Saturday – 11am-12pm – you can call in to the Councillor Surgery to talk to one of the High Street Ward Councillors. If you can’t get to the surgery, you can find the Councillors’ details and how to contact them on the Waltham Forest website.
On Wednesday 9 December (2pm-5pm) the Waltham Forest Community Radio Group will be putting together a programme and welcome newcomers who would like to help. You can listen to past programmes by clicking here.
For everything else going on this week, take a look at the separate calendar on this page (righthand side if viewing from a desktop/laptop – elsewhere if viewing from a mobile device) and click for more information about how to join in and if there is any cost. Or – just call in; there’s always someone on reception who can tell you more about what’s going on- from acupuncture to yoga via knitting and ukulele!
