This week we continue to celebrate our fourth birthday – and you can read all about how our big birthday party on Saturday 5 September started us off with bang! Don’t worry if you missed that – there’s still lots more to come…
The next big event is the St James Big Local Jumble Trail – make sure you stop off at The Mill on Sunday 13 September (11am-3pm) to buy pre-loved baby clothes and bric-a-brac at knock-down prices, and enjoy a cuppa with cake while you browse.
On Tuesday morning (8 September) we’ll be welcoming participants to the first in a series of Art and Animation workshops – and they and all other visitors can also enjoy real coffee, freshly brewed, served with home-made biscotti, for just £1.
Another new workshop starting this week is for writers who can learn how to apply the musical technique of modulation to writing. Places are limited, so please first go to https://modulation.eventbrite.co.uk to make a booking for the first session on Saturday 12 September.
The exhibition – 9 Views of Walthamstow – continues all this week. Come along and see how local photographers can transform familiar and sometimes mundane scenes into arresting images.
Check the calendar for full details of the above, and all else that is going on this week – and make sure to keep an eye on our website for events later this month. But, above all, don’t forget that you can drop-in whenever we are open. You can relax in the living-room or garden (did you see the tweet about the caterpillars?) make yourself a cup of tea or coffee, read a newspaper, borrow a book or two from the honesty library, bring your children to enjoy all the toys in the playroom – and chat to our reception staff about all that is going on and how to join in.
