The new exhibition at The Mill on view from Thursday is called If Not Now: Award-winning photographer Michael Whelan captured images of older residents to commemorate 50 years of Contact the Elderly. The shots were taken at the charity’s Waltham Forest events. It is hoped this project will act as a catalyst for more volunteers and elderly people to join the charity’s social groups. The project has received funding through a Waltham Forest Arts Development Grant and The Arts Council England to create a UK wide project. Read more in the blog on our website here. Note There is no Asian Women’s Support Group next week, but we do have Chi Kung with Heike starting at 3pm for an hour on Thursday: a gentle exercise that is similar to Yoga and Tai Chi, a great way to limber up for Spring. Children are welcome to use the play room all week (closed Mondays) as there is no Kids Art Club until it starts up again on Thursday 23rd April 3.30pm.
