NEW: Competition at The Mill – What could you make happen for older residents?

woman1

Thursday afternoon Pop Ups for up to six weeks available, DEADLINE TO APPLY THIS FRIDAY 11th JULY

The Mill is holding a Pop Up Competition so that more activities can be helped to happen for older residents.  Funded by the High Street Ward Forum, local people have the opportunity to make proposals for activities that they can run.

The winning activities will be offered a pop up slot of six weeks on Thursday afternoons, 2-4pm, in the Garden Room at The Mill, free of charge.  The Garden Room can hold up to 28 people, depending on layout, and is used for a range of activities for local residents at other times.  Each activity can also claim £50 expenses for their group.

The following pop up slots will be offered to the best applicants:

2 Oct 14 to 6 Nov 14

13 Nov 14 to 18 Dec 14

8 Jan 15 to 12 Feb 15

19 Feb 15 to 26 Mar 15

9 Apr 15 to 14 May 15

21 May 15 to 25 Jun 15

2 Jul 15 to 6 Aug 15

– in each case, 2-4pm on Thursday afternoons.

Your activity should be targeted at older local residents and open to the public.  It can be something new, or something you have been developing. We are very happy to hear from people applying together and from local organisations. A panel of Mill volunteers will decide on the applications.

Please click on this link to download the form Mill new project proposals – older%0D%0A people’s activties 2014-15  to tell us about your proposal, or answer these questions below on your own sheet.  You can email the answers to alison@themill-coppermill.org or leave them at Mill reception, in Alison’s Mill pigeon hole, or pop it through her door a few doors down at 23 Coppermill Lane.  You can email Alison if you have any questions.

The deadline for proposals is Friday 11th July and we will let you know if you have been successful by Friday 18th July.

Tell us about your project.  What will you do?

Tell us a bit about your background.  Have you done something like this before?

Will you charge for your activity?

In our experience, a lot of people first come to groups because they know the organiser or someone else involved.  Can you tell us about who you think will come to your activity, if you know?

Please say if you can’t do any of the dates on offer or if you have a particular preference (but the more flexible you can be, the greater chance we can offer you something):

Your contact name, contact details and any contact preferences:

By submitting this information, you are committing that you are available, to the best of your knowledge, to carry out this project if you are chosen.
