What’s On: 17-22 September

If you need help on a variety of council issues, every third Tuesday we host a High Street Ward Councillor Surgery – you can pop in until 11.30 for advice and on Wednesdays from 1pm Waltham Forest Advice Surgery.

Some new things starting this week: Mamenoki Bunko Japanese Book Club returns on Thursdays (monthly) at 4pm. On Thursday at 6.30pm until 8.30pm, alongside her Sculpture exhibition of Waiting models (opened last Thursday, see pic), artist Esther Neslen will give a talk about how she makes her plaster people – and will maybe do a small demonstration.

Saturday is a busy day for classes: Are you a creative, intuitive person?  Do you want to learn a variety of fun and interactive techniques to develop this way of being? Starting at 11am join the Creative Intuitive class. New to the Mill on Saturdays are Khyal arts – Indian Singing Classes using singing styles from North India, Pakistan and Bangladesh starting at 10am. Spanish for You returns (at 2pm) for the autumn term.

Saturday 21st The Wisdom Well are having an open meeting in the Living Room at 11am with tea and biscuits. The Wisdom Well is a new arts-led community dialogue initiative, by Studio 3 Arts. Come along to find out more and see if you can become involved

Chess is back for Sundays Everyone is welcome – beginners and improvers aged from 11 years upward, every Sunday from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. Minimum donation £2 (towards The Mill). Starting at the Mill (also on Sunday 22nd) a  History Walk with Peter Ashan, starting at 2pm from The Mill: exploring the struggles for a multi-ethnic and multi-faith community in Waltham Forest. .
