Explore Polish migration to the area since the mid 1800s in this group session. The project will explore some of the origins of Polish migration, including around the Lebus Factory, which sat just on the borough’s borders from around 1840. It will also look at what Polish migration has contributed to the local community in terms of arts, crafts and technological developments.
From Poland to Waltham Forest will be run by Share UK, alongside volunteers from the local community and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Everyone is welcome – both those of Polish heritage and anyone else interested in local history.
