On Wednesday the  Carers Bookmaking Craft Group are inviting any carer in Waltham Forest, or anyone who cares for someone in Waltham Forest. This is a creative support group for carers, providing a sympathetic environment in which life’s problems and joys can be shared through bookmaking. We will be making books about who we are, our interests and things we enjoy. We will share skills in storytelling, photography, knitting, diary writing and so on. The main purpose of making a book is to gain a sense of achievement and recognition of who you are. To register your interest in joining this group, please phone Waltham Forest Carers Association on 020 8531 9652. (www.walthamforestcarers.com)

Thursday gladly brings us the Mamenoki Bunko (Japanese Children book club) for Japanese parent(s)/carer(s) and children who are aged 1 years and upwards. The session is about the learning Japanese through looking at children’s books. Its a great way to spend quality family time.

Enjoy the Friday feeling with a relaxing session of yoga.

Babies and toddlers can take the spotlight by taking part in Wriggly Rhythms. This group is for babies and toddlers who want to sing with their parents and carers.  During a 45- minute session, they will get the opportunity to sing songs, shake shakers, meet puppets, dance, listen and, of course, sing.  A variety of songs from traditional nursery rhymes and counting songs to less familiar songs around themes that change every half term.  Lots of repetition provides familiarity and a good foundation for learning while, for parents, it’s the opportunity to learn new songs to sing at home of dust off your memories to keep the traditional rhymes alive.

This is not all. Please click here to see what else is on this week and do call us if you need further information of activities taking place.
