This is an opportunity for residents to access Waltham Forest Direct services at The Mill.
A generalist advisor will be available on Wednesdays between 1pm-5pm to:
- Guide customers to make their own application for Housing Benefit (HB), Council Tax Benefit(CTB) and Free School Meals using the Council internet e-claim forms as well as reporting a Change in Circumstance using the e-form.
- Provide general information about all these benefits and guide customers to use the Council website to get further information on benefits including estimates on benefit entitlement using the Benefit Calculator.
- Advise customers on the information that needs to be provided to support their benefit claim.
- Photocopy evidence to support claim already made and verify documents.
- Council Tax enquiries, logging street service requests and giving general information about Council services.
Appointments will also be offered with a specialist advisor from 12th December and will be made by the generalist advisor as required. Appointments will be made for residents who:
- have already submitted a new claim for HB/CTB and/or Free School meals, or who have already submitted a Change in Circumstance (e.g. there is a change of address).
