What’s on 6th to 10th June

“Welcome back. The Mill is closed for an extra day for the Jubilee but opens as usual from Wednesay 6th.
We will be taking in your entries of  soft  handmade creations to be on display at the SOFT Exhibition. If you are a textile artist,  you can  showcase your work here  and if you are a parent to be , don’t miss your opportunity to join other local parents (to be) at a NCT class this Thursday.
The Mill is a place for everyone. Whether you like to learn a language, or want to learn how to use a computer, or how to become a little actor/actress,  or get creative in Art , or want to listen to stories. There is something for most interests.

The Mill Community space knitting group meets every Friday from 10am to 12 noon. For experienced knitters or the complete novice. Support and teaching where required. Everyone welcome.

10:00 – 10:50 and 11:00 -11:50  Grow Your Own Theatre – Drama workshop
Children take part in a making activity, then use their creation to inspire their very own stories.  Parents/carers are welcome to leave their children with us and come back to share our mini show at the end. Tickets £6 each or £20 for four classes.

10:30 – 13:00  and 14:00 – 16:30 See ‘n’ Make Art Workshop
Adult workshop (aged16 +) to create sound tubes, also known as rain makers or rain traps. Help create the sound by using filters and natural materials such as chick peas. Decorate the exteriors. Tubes will be exhibited in Langthorne Park, Leyton E11. Sound tube kits and all materials provided. See example of what you will be creating at The Mill’s  reception desk. Artist, David Barnett of see ‘n’ make, workshop is free and funded by Waltham Forest Arts and Events.
Saturday 9 June 10.30 – 1.00 and 2.00 – 4.30.  Price £5.00 per person  payment to The Mill (to cover hire of space). Pre-booking essential, maximum 8 people.

14:00 – 16:00 Spanish for Beginners
Spanish is a fun and easy language to learn. “This course is aimed at beginners and improvers (of any age) and you will learn how to ask for information, get around, order food and drink and start basic conversations. The class will run on Saturdays from 2-4pm. I am a native Spanish speaker, with a teaching qualification from the UK, so why not enrol! This course will run for 6 weeks starting from 28th April till 2 June. The cost is £10 per session (term payable in advance). 11:00 – 12:00  It`s Storytime at the Pippi Longstocking Club!
We will be reading The Adventures Of Pippi And Her Friends to children of all ages today and every other Sunday. Please note this is a 1 hour story telling session.

 11:00 – 13:00  Chess at The Mill
Who is it aimed at? Beginners and improver’s – Everyone is welcome! Aged from 11 years upwards. What to pay? Minimum donation £2 towards The Mill. What to bring? A few chess sets would be available, but please bring your own set – if you have one! See you there!
