Welcome Syrian Refugees – Volunteering meeting Monday 4th June 6-8pm at The Mill

A meeting, hosted by Walthamstow Migrant Action Group, Refugees Welcome Waltham Forest and Community Waltham Forest are hosting an event for local people looking to find out more about volunteering to support Syrian refugee families who are settling in the borough, and in particular:

•       Volunteers who can speak Arabic to support liaising with the families.

•       People who have had experience of teaching English as a foreign language. This is really important and would supplement the English classes the families are currently receiving.

•       Anyone with some dry and safe storage for items which have been collected for the families but that have yet to be used

•       Volunteers to support a collection process and to provide practical help when new families arrive.

•       People/ideas about developing links to local employers to help members of the family get into work
