Walthamstow – Swift Heaven! Swifts, those spectacular sickle shaped birds that fly so fast all over our sky and over the Walthamstow Reservoirs every summer, are in sad decline. Eating only flying insects, they benefit us by controlling insect pests and insect-carried diseases like Malaria, Denge and West Nile Virus, all of which seem to be heading our way. They also brighten up our lives with their amazing flying displays!
