Grief can be overwhelming and lonely. For people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, or who are questioning their identity, grief can also bring unique experiences and challenges that are not always recognised or understood.
Join Creating Conversations and elop for an evening of learning and reflection in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The evening will include:
- A 20-minute talk by Sarah Humphreys from elop exploring the unique experiences of grief within LGBTQ+ communities and how we can better understand and support one another.
- Facilitated small group sharing – an opportunity to connect with others, reflect on the talk and, if you wish, share your own experiences in a safe and supportive space.
This event is open to everyone – members of the LGBTQ+ community, friends, family, professionals and anyone who wants to better understand LGBTQ+ experiences of grief.
To ensure LGBTQ+ attendees have the opportunity to speak freely, there will be a dedicated closed group exclusively for people from the LGBTQ+ community during the small group sharing.
Although the event will be interactive, there will be no pressure to participate. You’re welcome to come along and just listen — whatever feels right for you.
This event has been made possible thanks to funding from MuchLoved. MuchLoved is the UK’s leading in-memory platform, helping people remember someone special and fundraise in their memory.
Do come and join us.
