Have a laugh with E17’s famous comedians as they ‘workshop’ your joke skills!

Susan Murray and Maureen Younger are two local comedians with a national presence. They are taking time out from their schedules, including country-wide gigs, hosting the Red Imp Comedy Club and the MY Comedy night, to help The Mill community sharpen our joke skills. Join this free workshop in The Mill’s Living Room…

The joke workshop – jokeshop? – will last a couple of hours starting at 11am. Susan and Maureen will provide some thoughts on how they develop humour and comedy routines, including thinking about joke structure, timing and misdirection. The workshop is suitable for all the family – especially the ones with bad jokes.

The jokeshop takes place in the context of The Mill’s ongoing participatory art exhibition celebrating the humble one-liner “The Jokes On Us!”. The show already includes over 100 jokes provided by The Mill community, currently stuck on our walls alongside Peter Liversidge‘s framed jokes which have been lent to us by the Government Art Collection. Let the jokes inspire you!

Part of the Borough of Culture

The show and this workshop are part of the Waltham Forest Borough of Culture 2019 programme called “Ways of Seeing” where over 60 famous artworks from the Government Art Collection are currently being displayed in Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone and Chingford.
