Most mainstream religions advocate some form of fasting for spiritual and health reasons. Much of the scientific research today focuses on disease prevention and longevity although benefits in weight loss means it has become a popular interest for those wanting to shed the pounds. (Which has been noted as a positive bonus for those who have embarked upon this for health reasons.)
We will be looking at intermittent fasting for health and longevity. With confusion in the scientific community about the best time to eat or frequency of eating for optimal health, we will be covering intermittent fasting according to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine.
