What would your ideal childcare be like for under-fives?
Affordable? Child-centred? Run by parents and carers just like you?
In the 1970s a group of parents and carers in Walthamstow set up the first parent-run co-operative nursery. Come to an evening of conversation on Thursday 14 March to learn from their experiences and discuss creative childcare solutions, then and now. Book your free place here
If you were involved with the First Neighbourhood Co-operative Nursery as a parent or carer, staff member or child, please come share your memories. If you are interested in making childcare work better now come and tell us what you would like childcare and early years education to be like. We want to hear your views and experiences!
Thursday 14 March 7:30-9 pm at The Mill (7-11 Coppermill Lane, E17 7HA). Refreshments provided. Children welcome to accompany you.
This event is part of Doing It Ourselves, an oral history project run by On the Record and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
