Calling all creative practitioners!
An exciting new opportunity has come to Waltham Forest to fund small creative projects and get featured at the Walthamstow Garden party! It’s called the Idea’s Kitchen and is based on the Detroit Soup model. It’s running in association with The Mill, The Barbican, BeBop Baby, Gnome House, Slap Haddock theatre company and X7eaven, to help fund creative ideas with, and for, the community.
All you have to do is submit a short proposal outlining your idea; it could be anything from performing, creative writing to artistic workshops. A local board shortlist the proposals and the successful applicants are invited to to come and pitch their ideas at a community dinner held at Gnome House. Everyone attending the dinner will pay a small donation at the door which will give them a hot meal and the opportunity to vote on their favourite idea. The applicant with the most votes will walk away with the money raised on the door (which is also match funded by the Barbican) and the opportunity to develop their project.
The criteria is straightforward; you must live, work or study in Waltham Forest and be over 16 years of age to apply. If you are the winner you will be given a platform at The Walthamstow Garden Party and funding to deliver your project.
We are accepting proposals from the 9 to 23 May, follow the link below for further details:
