This class is for anyone with little or no experience of either yoga or Ashtanga yoga, as well as for those who wish to develop their practice. The classes are small so you get lots of attention and encouragement. These classes are supportive and fun in a friendly atmosphere. Josetta will adjust the poses to suit people with conditions/injuries. Ashtanga is a flowing form of yoga, great for building strength, poise and balance. Like other forms of yoga, we focus on the breath to achieve a sense of calm and peace. The Mill is very proud and excited to be the chosen charity for the next St Barnabas Sunday Concert. Please come along, show your support and enjoy some beautiful singing by three professional opera singers with a wonderfully wide repertoire of classical and popular music. Soprano, Gillian Keith and tenor, Tom Randle, will be joined by mezzo-soprano, Diana Moore and accompanied by pianist, John Reid.

The recital is free, but a donation of £5-£10 will be appreciated, and all proceeds will go to The Mill. St Barnabas Church is in St Barnabas Road, E17 8JZ.

The performers will present a programme called Poetry in E-Motion, featuring the music of composers who were influenced and inspired by the work of a particular poet. The music in Poetry in E-Motion is diverse, beautiful and poignant, and also aims to be informative with songs and operatic arias by Schubert, Mozart, Samuel Barber, Gerald Finzi and others. The concert will last approximately 40 minutes followed by refreshments.

But … if you don’t want to participate in a particular activity or event, do just drop-in. Whenever we are open you can just call in to:

  • use the honesty library (a great selection of books donated by local residents which you can take away to read, and then return or not … we don’t check!);
  • view the latest art exhibition on the walls of our ‘living room’;
  •  make a cuppa (tea and coffee supplies are available for a small donation of 50p);
  • bring your little ones to enjoy all the toys in the Childrens’ Playroom, or
  • just come in for a chat – there’s always someone on the reception desk to welcome you.
