There will be questions on general knowledge, music, food & drink, books & authors, sport, science, art & artists,  a round testing your knowledge of facts relating to E17 and two picture rounds (one specially for under 10s).

There are prizes to be won … (kindly donated by local businesses).. £5 per adult (children under 16 free) all proceeds to The Mill.  Spaces are limited and going fast, so call in soon to The Mill to book a place or send an email to the organiser –  tinman.adele@yahoo.com

The Hot Topics Debate is on Saturday 20 February, 3pm-6pm.

Hot Topics Debate flyer. (1)This event is a debate with a 6-person panel of professionals and young people. The debate will be hosted by Judith Jacob (former Eastenders and Real McCoy actress) and will focus on five specific questions relating to issues that affect young people on a daily basis and how they can be overcome. The event is aimed primarily at young people 16-30 but older members of the community are welcome. stepup3And throughout the week you can call in to look at the latest exhibition in the living room.

Over the past nine months we have worked with five local artists on the Step-Up project – which engaged over 60 residents in an exciting and challenging variety of creative practices, including mosaics, sculpture, animation, poetry and more, with support from the Big Lottery Fund.

The results are now on the walls of the living room for all to see and – in some cases – hear … The exhibition will be on display in The Mill’s living room until 11 March 2016  so do call in for a feast for the eyes and ears …   More details here.

Finally – do remember you don’t have to join in an activity. Our doors are open Tuesday-Sunday for you to just drop-in, read a newspaper, make a cuppa, borrow a book from the honesty library, and/or bring your children to enjoy the playroom. And there’s always someone on reception to welcome you and give you information about what’s on …
