Art

  • Thursday 22 October – Sunday 6 December (during Mill open hours). Transform is an open and free exhibition of artworks by local artists on the theme of changing seasons, the cycles of life, decay, re-birth, and magic. On the evening of the first day – 22 October 6-8.30pm – you can meet the artists and enjoy some nibbles and drinks.

Business Skills Workshop

Health, Well-Being and Support

  • Tuesday 20 October – 16:00-19:00Community Acupuncture Clinic. Patients receive treatments in small groups in comfortable reclining chairs or massage tables distributed in the same room. You decide what you can afford on a sliding scale between £20-£40. No income verification or questions asked. Knitting

  • Wednesday 21 October – 18:30-20:00 and Friday 23 October – 10:00-13:00. The Knitting Group is for experienced knitters or the complete novice. Support and teaching where required. Everyone welcome. £1 donation to The Mill appreciated. You can just drop-in.

Language, communication and literature

  • Tuesday 20 October – 19:00-21:00English for Beginners/Improvers is a class for beginners and elementary level, working towards IELTS and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.   • Tuesday 20 October – 19:00-21:00 Mill Book Club. This month’s book is : ‘Waiting in the Twilight’ by Joan Riley. If you’ve read it, do come along – if not, come along to find out what next month’s book will be and how you can join in.

Socialising

  • Wednesday 21 October – 12:00-14:00Laughter Club. This is a club where people can meet to socialize and make new friends and enjoy pleasant company. At the start it will be for people who are on employment support allowance on the work programme with SEETEC, but as the group evolves over time and gets more successful it will be open for the whole community.   • Sunday 25 October – 11:30-13:00 Community Breakfast – Just drop-in to meet your neighbours. Bring food to share and relax in The Mill’s Living Room. Supplies for making coffee and tea (including herbal) available for a small donation.
