St James Big Local Treasure Hunt, 10th – 21st February 2015
About the Project:
Wathamstow is a vibrant part of East London, with an extraordinary mix of people and places. St James sits at the heart of this community, embracing a busy stretch of Walthamstow High Street.
Over the past couple of months, local children have been collecting and recording their thoughts and feelings about the area. They have explored every corner of St James, unearthing many hidden treasures and have now returned, laden with booty. With some help from local architects and designers, these young adventurers have constructed an amazing treasure map to share with their neighbours. They have also made drawings and written their thoughts about St James, which have been deposited in an archive for posterity. Come and have a look! You can find out more on Tuesday 10th February 2015, 2-5pm and Saturday 21st February 2015, 2-6pm. This is your chance to rank the ideas that have been gathered from local people over the last 6 months on how to spend £1m from the Big Lottery as part of the Big Local initiative in the St James area. All the ideas for St James are now available for you to rank, please visit http://www.stjamesbiglocal.co.uk/ to take part.
