Grant Fundraiser The Mill E17

Grant Fundraiser, The Mill E17

Closing date 4th May interviews 17th May

Want to work at The Mill on Coppermill Lane, E17? We are looking for an experienced and proactive Grant Fundraiser.

The Mill is Walthamstow’s newest community space, which is volunteer-led. The Mill was formed by a group of residents 3 years ago, and has created a valuable community resource for Walthamstow.  We are looking for a part time, experienced Grant Fundraiser to raise vital funds for The Mill’s long term future.

The Mill is a shared community space for all, but not just somewhere that hires out rooms. The Mill is a living room; where neighbours meet each other, access new skills and culture, build links and creating a sense of neighbourliness, in an area where there is isolation and deprivation.

As a Fundraiser, your first priority will be to secure significant grants from new and existing Trust and Lottery sources to enable the continuation of our work at The Mill. You will produce high quality, tailored applications, develop new relationships with funders, and ensure that all sources of potential income are explored.

As The Mill continues to grow in size and ambition, the Fundraiser will also be required to explore the potential of other fundraising opportunities and work with the Trustees to develop and implement a strategy to increase our unrestricted income stream. You’ll need to work with other members of The Mill to deliver a programme of communications and events which engage and inspire our supporters to raise money.

You will have demonstrable success in Trusts or Lottery fundraising in the voluntary sector, having sourced and written successful funding bids. You will have knowledge and understanding of a range of funders, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload against deadlines. You’ll be a self-starter with plenty of initiative and comfortable working with ambiguity.
