10:30 – 11:00 Music with Jo and her Cello
Music with Jo and her Cello is an enjoyable interactive music session for 3 months to 3 years. Sessions contain action songs and nursery rhymes specially adapted to support listening skills, exploring and playing instruments with live cello, fun music and movement, interesting vocal sounds and stimulating multi sensory activities. 13:00 – 17:00 Waltham Forest Advice Surgery
This is an opportunity for residents to access Waltham Forest Direct services at The Mill. A generalist advisor will be available to: – Guide customer to make their own application for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit and Free School Meals using the Council internet e-claim forms as well as reporting a Change in Circumstance using the e-form. Provide general information about all these benefits and guide customers to use the Council website to get further information on benefits including estimates on benefit entitlement using the Benefit Calculator. Advise customers on the information that needs to be provided to support their benefit claim.  Photocopy evidence to support claim already made and verify documents. Council Tax enquiries, logging street service requests and giving general information about Council services Appointments will also be offered with a specialist advisor from 12th December and will be made by the generalist advisor as required. Appointments will be made for residents who: Have already submitted a New claim for HB/CTB and/or Free School meals or have already submitted a Change in Circumstance (e.g. there is a change of address).

15:00 – 16:00 Young Start Up
Free course for young people 27 years or younger and who are unemployed and resident of Waltham Forest This course will motivate you to not just talk about your brilliant business idea but give you the information, tools and support to get started. It is practical – getting you to take the first steps between sessions. The idea of business will be covered from different angles in an interactive and fun way. Every Thursday starting 15th November. Suggested donation £2 towards materials and The Mill, reduced rate for siblings. Session will consist of collage, card making and general art activities, come and have fun!

The Kid’s Creative Workshop is for kids 10 – 14 and is run by a group of 12 – 14 year olds. THIS CLASS IS NOW FULL.

Interested in Polish heritage and culture? Interested in the history of immigration?  Living or working in Waltham Forest? A project to document the history of migration from Poland to Waltham Forest is being planned. We want you to take part! Wriggly Rhythms : start time 10:15
Wriggly Rhythms is a group for babies and toddlers who want to sing with their parents and carers. During a 45 minute session, they will get the opportunity to sing songs, shake shakers, meet puppets, dance, listen and, of course, sing. A variety of songs from traditional nursery rhymes and counting songs to less familiar songs around themes that change every half term. Lots of repetition provides familiarity and a good foundation for learning while, for parents, it’s the opportunity to learn new songs to sing at home of dust off your memories to keep the traditional rhymes alive. Call Ailsa on 07882 409370. £3.50 per session.

These classes are for beginners and those who want to improve (of any age) and you will learn how to ask for information, get around, order food and drink and start basic conversations. I am a native Spanish speaker, with a teaching qualification from the UK, so why not enrol! The cost is £6 per session (6 week terrm payable in advance). Sunday 13th January
11:00 – 12:00 Homework Club for young people
The Homework Club forms a part of the Salaam Peace Positive Routes Waltham Forest Project funded by the WF Youth Offer. The aim of the homework club is to provide a safe and appropriate environment for local Young People to use. A tutor is provided and access to lap-tops. Young People turn up with any homework and are given support to develop their skills and knowledge. For more information on this and to join the homework club email sab@salaampeace.org

Who is it aimed at? Beginners and improvers – Everyone is welcome! Aged from 11 years upwards When? Every Sunday from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. Starts: 1 April 2012 What to pay?
