What`s On 13th – 18th Nov

 The Mill is a fun packed activity centre for all ages. This week the Waltham Forest Youth Film Board are coming in looking for budding film artist`s like you!! If you are aged 16 to 24 be sure to join us on Tuesday 13th. Also on that day, we have a Yoga class for those who cannot take part in other session`s. For those who are wanting to learn how to make hand crafted books and if you are a carer, this special class is catered for you, so do come in on Wednesday 14th and have some fun!!! This Saturday we are holding a  Used Toy Sale so don`t miss a bargain for quality products and if you are a teenager wanting to engage in some yoga just for you, yourself and you,  then you are welcome to come in to (or phone us) book your place for the Yoga Teenager Session. This is a seven week, part time, free course for young people 27 years or younger and who are unemployed and resident of Waltham Forest.This course will motivate you to not just talk about your brilliant business idea but give you the information, tools and support to get started. It is practical – getting you to take the first steps between sessions. The subject of business will be covered from different angles in an interactive and fun way.The workshops will be taking place at the Mill  from October. This is a workshop for any carer in Waltham Forest, or anyone who cares for someone in Waltham Forest. This is a creative support group for carers, providing a sympathetic environment in which life’s problems and joys can be shared through bookmaking. We will be making books about who we are, our interests and things we enjoy. We will share skills in storytelling, photography, knitting, diary writing and so on. The main purpose of making a book is to gain a sense of achievement and recognition of who you are. The Mill Community space knitting group meets every Friday from 10am to 12 noon. For experienced knitters or the complete novice. Support and teaching where required. Everyone welcome.Wriggly Rhythms : start time 10:15
Wriggly Rhythms is a group for babies and toddlers who want to sing with their parents and carers. During a 45 minute session, they will get the opportunity to sing songs, shake shakers, meet puppets, dance, listen and, of course, sing. A variety of songs from traditional nursery rhymes and counting songs to less familiar songs around themes that change every half term. Lots of repetition provides familiarity and a good foundation for learning while, for parents, it’s the opportunity to learn new songs to sing at home of dust off your memories to keep the traditional rhymes alive. Call Ailsa on 07882 409370. £3.50 per session.12:00 – 14:00 Herbal Medicine Workshop

10:00 – 10:35 Creative Dance Workshops for 3-5 year olds
Children will explore how the body can move, building physical confidence and creativity. Using music, rhymes, props and objects children will explore moving in different ways. How might you move with wellington boots, brightly coloured feathers or a large elastic ring? a fun and stimulating workshop where children can learn some movement ‘building blocks’ such as body parts, leading and following and musical shapes while also developing their own ideas. 35 minutes sessions : 10:00-10:35am £3.50 per session Spaces limited : Book at Mill Reception.

Teenage Yoga Taster Session
11:00 – 12:00 For Girls
12:00 -13:00 For Boys and Girls
Exercise, relax and unwind with these classes especially for teenagers! Yoga provides a non-competitive and positive activity which can help teenagers gain knowledge of their bodies and build confidence and self-esteem. Physically yoga improves muscle tone, balance and coordination. It helps improve concentration and focus! Yoga is also a great support in times of anxiety and stress, such as during exams and throughout every- day life. All welcome. Learn coping mechanisms to help you feel more able to deal with the many changes taking place as a teenager.

Spanish is a fun and easy language to learn. This course is aimed at beginners and improvers (of any age) and you will learn how to ask for information, get around, order food and drink and start basic conversations. The class will run on Saturdays 2-4pm. I am a native Spanish speaker, with a teaching qualification from the UK, so why not enrol! The cost is £10 per session (term payable in advance). The Homework Club forms a part of the Salaam Peace Positive Routes Waltham Forest Project funded by the WF Youth Offer. The aim of the homework club is to provide a safe and appropriate environment for local Young People to use. A tutor is provided and access to lap-tops.
