The Mill’s very own journalism club has launched the second edition of its new online magazine “Milling Around“ this week.
This month, the magazine throws the spotlight on the older generation and their incredible memories of growing up in and around Walthamstow.
Meet “Big Len the Butch” the butcher of Walthamstow High Street, relive the horror of wartime bombing raids, or simply take a look around a grim and chilly 1940’s outhouse. The articles provide an intriguing window on an era that has largely become buried in time.
The magazine also includes a number of other interesting news and lifestyle features written by local people.
Milling Around is still looking for keen writers and photographers to help with our next edition, which will provide fascinating insights into the lives of West Walthamstow’s local celebrities, along with other news and features.
