Your last chance to see  Multi Cultural Islam which showcases some vibrant work from three young British Asian Women Artists.

All of these artists have exhibited many times and we are very proud to have their work at the Mill, Tuesday to Saturday 10 am – 6pm till November 5th.

Tayyaba Gondal, is a Muslim Artist , trained in Pakistan, she works in oils using a mainly monochrome palette. Her work shows influences of both Asian and western culture and hones in on the smaller, often overlooked, details of domestic Asian life.

Sba Shaikh is an accomplished textile artist, her pieces are hand printed and dyed, then richly embellished using a variety of decorative techniques . Light is an important factor in her work which grows out of her Indo/British Muslim heritage. There are four of her striking wall panels on view at the Mill. Sba has also provided written material, in English and Urdu , which give insights into aspects of Muslim history and customs.

Hamlila Patel of Rishta Designs , creates one off, many layered embroidered fabrics , she celebrates the joy, harmony and pride of the African/Asian people having spent 10 years in Africa. She is also showing some small abstract oils in shades of precious metals.

The English meaning of the Hindi word Rishta is Relationship /Connection /Kindred.
We hope this exhibition embraces the connection between all people and communities.
