Build The Mill

Build The Mill logo

Our building is a much-loved and well-used space, but it was not originally designed for how we use it now.

Although we’ve adapted the space over the years, we need to improve the building to create a more accessible and environmentally-friendly space, but still keep it affordable and welcoming. Our ‘Build The Mill’ project will involve refurbishment and remodelling of the building to ensure we meet these current and future needs. Works won’t start immediately, the first stage of the project – over the next couple of years – is to consult, plan and fundraise for the works that are going to take place.

The community and everyone who works from and visits The Mill are at the heart of the project, and will be involved throughout the process. We’ll need your help to make sure the project is a success, and to ensure that everyone’s views are represented.

In the next few months we’ll be putting our project team together and there’ll be plenty of opportunities to feed in to the plans. If you have questions or comments at this stage, please get in touch.

Our Story So Far

A person at an exhibition, looking at a collaborative collage artwork labelled "The Past"During the summer of 2018 we ran a consultation to explore ‘Our Story So Far’. This was an opportunity to celebrate The Mill, to take a step back to see how far we’ve come, consider where we are now, and take a step forward towards what the future could bring. Find out more.
