Make plaster balloon sculptures

A free workshop for children aged 5 to 11 and their parents/carers.

Join sculptor Esther Neslen to make exciting casts in plaster by squishing a balloon with your hands. These creations are inspired by the work of Maria Bartuszová.

We mix plaster, pour it into the bottle, attach a balloon to the neck of the bottle. We pour the plaster from the bottle into the balloon and tie the end. As it starts to set we hold it in place until it’s solid and when we take the balloon off we have a gorgeous, tactile sculpture to take home.

• All children should have an adult with them
• It’s suitable for 5 year olds upwards
• Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
• YOU MUST BRING A SMALL PLASTIC WATER BOTTLE (a froot shoot size or a bit bigger are ideal).
