Stop Motion Animation Workshop for Kids – with animator and illustrator Brook Morgan
Come along to a fun, free workshop where kids can get creative and try out stop motion animation!
The session is inspired by Place2Be’s therapeutic art activity “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself”, where children are invited to explore their identity by imagining themselves as a growing plant.
Together we’ll imagine ourselves as growing plants – starting with our roots, what do the roots of our plant look like? How do they grow? From there, we’ll imagine what kind of plant will grow from those roots – will it be a flower, a cactus, a bush, or perhaps a tree?
We’ll use drawings, plasticine, collage, and other art materials to build our own characters and bring them to life on screen. No experience needed, just curiosity and imagination!
Each child will make a short animated film to take home (provided as a downloadable link, or sent directly to a parent).
If you have any questions in advance, you are welcome to reach out to Brook by email (brookmorgan@me.com).
Reserving your spot is essential! As places are limited. Each child must be accompanied by an adult, but adults are welcome to have a cup of tea or relax in The Mill main area while our session takes place in the meeting room.
