Two BIG events this week are:

Full details of both are below – as are details of of all other activities taking place this week which are open to newcomers or for which a waiting list is in operation. Details given include whether you need to book or can just drop-in – and there are also contact details for organisers or links so you can find out more.

But …  you don’t have to join an activity to call in.  Everyone is welcome at The Mill whenever we are open. You can borrow a book from the honesty library, bring your little ones to enjoy all the toys in the playroom, make a cuppa and have a chat – and browse leaflets, flyers and posters on display to  find out what else is going on throughout Waltham Forest. There’s always someone on reception to welcome you and give more information.

Monday 25 September

6pm-7pm – Gentle Yoga

7pm-8.30pm – Ashtanga Yoga – Mysore style

7pm-9pm – ‘Make your mark’
A four-week drawing course led by local artist Jason Hawkridge. The venue alternates between The Chequers pub (back room) and The Mill. Urban Nature Photography Exhibition call for artistsUrban Nature: A photography exhibition – exploring the urban and where nature and the city collide. Whenever The Mill is open you can call in to view the exhibition on the walls of our living-room. The exhibition continues until 11 November.

Tuesday 26 September

Dao Nu: Affordable Community Acupuncture Clinic4.30pm-7.30pm – Community Acupuncture Clinic 
Patients receive treatments in small groups in comfortable reclining chairs or on massage tables distributed in the same room. You decide what you can afford on a sliding scale between £20-£40. No income verification or questions asked. For full details click here. Booking is essential.

Wednesday 27 September

10am-12pm – The New Parents Social Drop In
An informal coffee morning for parents of pre-crawling babies to get to know others who are also welcoming a new little person into their family. No need to book, you can just drop-in to join in and find out more.

12pm-3pm – Souper Wednesday

1.30pm-3pm – Urdu Conversation Class

4pm-5.15pm – French and Spanish classes for children
Arno teaches the well-recognized language programme “La Jolie Ronde”.Classes are 30 mins long with a maximum of 10 children to ensure they all get the attention they need. A 12 week programme of ESOL, aimed at migrant women of all backgrounds who want to integrate into their community, train as a volunteer, run local community events and gain an ESOL speaking qualification. 12pm-1.30pm – Words, Conversation and Scrabble group

For children of 6+. Each week of sessions during term-time there will be a new approach. It’s best if you can make all sessions but we try to accommodate drop-ins and a few younger children. 11am-1pm Mill Bike Group
A gentle 2-hour cycle paced well for all ages and abilities to join, exploring the River Lea and surroundings and stopping for a cup of tea.
